Shot overnight at McMurtry HQ, this image was used for the launch of the car in both videos and brochures. I had to mixture both gloss and matte surfaces along with difficult reflective curves. Not easy!
The first thing to establish is what focal length is going to deliver the shot you want. In this case I was pushed for space. So low and sexy was the way forward
For car and motorcycle shots you want to make the car/bike feel luxurious and desirable.
To create the smooth gradients I use my own custom-made floating ceiling panel. I’ve shot cars in a warehouse with lots of makeshift polyboards to give a similar result.
